  4. I made a short visit to the reserve, and observed the extensive progress
  5. made by the tree surgery team. The Fen was cleared up, and the first willow
  6. by the yew tree pond had been lopped and cleared. In addition they had taken
  7. out some falling trees by the track.

  9. Many of the usual small birds were active. Very welcome was a bullfinch.
