The bitmeist.zip file should include the following:
BITMEIST.DOC - The manual for Bitmeister
ABOUTBIT.TXT - This file.
BITMEIST.OPL - The Bitmeister Code for the Psion
BITMEIST.OPO - The Compiled version of Bitmeister
To run Bitmeister on your Psion, you need to put the
BITMEIST.OPO file in the m:\opo\ directory of your internal disk.
After this, just choose BitMeist under the RunOpl icon of your
system menu. Also you may want to put the BitMeist.doc file as a
word file on your Psion for reference. If you have any questions
about running Bitmeister on your Psion, please let me know.
Where Bitmeister is Going
This is version 1.00 of the program. I have done extensive
(5 hours) beta testing of the program, and hope I have caught all
the bugs. Yeah, right. I'm planning on putting out a version
with the code somewhat streamlined and with some new features
sometime in mid to late January '92. Some of the features I'm
thinking of adding is Flipping and Rotating areas of the bitmap,
better commenting of the code, and an animation reader that will
show one bitmap after another, with movement and fade in and out
and who knows what else. Any comments on the program or
suggestions would be great! This program was created in a vacuum
of user feedback, and I would like to fill that.
Bitmeister - The story behind the code.
I purchased the Psion Series 3 for myself as a birthday
present, and have loved it ever since. My life used to be a
blizzard of Post-It Notes, but no more! One of the reasons I got
the Psion was because I love to do programming, and programming
on this computer was part of what it does. Bitmeister is my
first Psion program, and I wrote it because there seemed to be a
need for one, to learn the system, and have something to do
during Christmas Vacation. I hope to put out a useful Psion
program every month or so, and am now soliciting ideas for things
you would like the Psion to have. Any ideas for programs out
there? Please let me know what they are.
Thanks,
W. Raymond Alderman
