Tod McNab is a mixed media artist focusing on sculpture, born in Sudbury, Ontario, in 1957. He studied at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, and at the University of Waterloo, where he received the degree Doctor of Optometry.
Scope and content
The work, {untitled] by Tod McNab, 1997, is an assemblage of four Plexiglas transparent composite images of the interior of McNab's eye superimposed on maps of London, Paris, and Rome, and on a text, intended by McNab to reflect the influences of his life and experiences on his art practice; the four Plexiglas sheets are slotted into a Bubinga wood and metal frame and the whole set within a document box.
