Juliane Okot Bitek is a poet and author born in Kisumu, Kenya, in 1966. She studied at the University of British Columbia, where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1995.
Scope and content
The collection consists of two artist's books with poetry and illustrations by Juliane Okot Bitek, 1997, entitled "Sisters," 13.5 x 10 cm, eight pages, and "For Dirty Angels," 11 x 10 cm, bound with a silver chain, seven pages.
Note
The artist stated that, "Art should be seen, felt, touched, smelt, eaten, drunk, heard, ingested, spat out and then done all over again. I encourage all participants to touch and read my entry as part of the experience, and I hope they leave with something."
