Michael Schaefer is an artist born in 1964 in Sigmaringen, Germany. He received a Photography Diploma at HGB Leipzig, Germany in 1994, and pursued studies in Contemporary Arts and Communication at Simon Fraser University.
Scope and content
The work, "Untitled," consists of a wooden box containing chalk pieces, a data memory calculator in its package box, one black board or child's slate, and a white cotton cloth intended for cleaning the black board, 1997.

The artist noted: "Instructions for the blackboard is stored in the data memory calculator. Steps of how to retrieve instructions from the calculator are included on the calculator box. Instructions for blackboard read as follows: Read message of previous visitor. Wipe off message of previous visitor. Write your own message for next visitor. Thank You."
