Tamara Unroe and Andrea Zimmer collaborate as artists and puppeteers. Unroe was born in Ottawa, Ontario, in 1971, and studied at Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, graduating in 1996, and at Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and Zimmer was born in London, Ontario, in 1967, studying architecture at the University of Toronto, and receiving a Diploma in Interdisciplinary Studies in 1991 from Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design.
Scope and content
The work consists of a toy truck, 38 x 18 x 12 cm, adapted by the artists to represent "A maquette of a life style, overflowing with puppet parts, webbed in by spiders. A map, a tour, a pen to write stories. Our intent: to bring art into people's lives that might otherwise not welcome it."
