Diana P.H. Gatrill is an artist born in Moshi, Tanzania, in 1945. She studied at the Cambridge Art College, United Kingdom, where she received a Pre-diploma Certificate in 1963, and at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1993.

The collection consists of four empty metal cans from Gatrill's studio, used for study, and an envelope containing seven colour photoprints, 10 x 15 cm, of the Gatrill's works titled: "Two Cans," "Four Cans," "Three Cans," "Draining I," "Draining II," "Heritage Plate, Modern Spoon," and "Treadle Machine."
