  1. This is the Alpha release of Image.  It still has plenty
  2. of bugs.  I wanted to get this out to get impressions and
  3. to ask about other features that people would like to
  4. see.

  6. The version I am releasing has no save capability.  If you
  7. really like the program and want a version that can save files,
  8. send a $25 dollar registration fee to:

  14. I will send a copy of the program with save capability.  Also,
  15. when the final version is complete I will send a copy of it.

  17. I am including no docs with the program.  So here are some
  18. quick notes.  The program can only be run with a 256 color driver,
  19. although dithering is in the works.  Image only knows how to read
  20. and write 256 color windows bitmaps.  To use most features,
  21. transforms and histograms, you must select a region of the
  22. current plane to work on.  All transform except for RGB-YIQ
  23. work only on the currently displayed plane.  Histogram equalization
  24. and the multi-spectral plotting functions are not currently
  25. implemented.  You must use Update Full Color after performing
  26. operations to update the 256 color image in the full color
  27. plane.
