COMPACT DISC MASTER v1.0 beta
(C) 1992 by Gary Maddox
===============================
Compact Disc Master was designed to be a full-featured, graphical based, CD
audio player for the Sound Blaster Pro and the Creative Labs Multimedia
CDROM. There are several good Windows 3.1 audio CD controllers but not many
for the DOS world. CDM was written to fill that void. It was written
specifically for the Sound Blaster Pro and the Creative Labs CDROM and may
not work with other CDROM drives.
CDM supports the standard CD player controls: PLAY, PAUSE, REWIND, FAST
FORWARD, PREVIOUS TRACK, NEXT TRACK. An individual track selection can be
made by clicking on a track number with the left mouse button. The track
selector will expand to the number of tracks on the current CD. Up to 99
tracks are supported, the limit allowed by current CD formats. The playback
volume can be easily adjusted by using the CD Volume slider. Selecting the
SCOPE button will display a real-time oscilloscope of the CD audio. This is
an interesting feature and one not available on any home CD player.
CD audio will continue playing after exiting CDM until the end of the CD.
REQUIREMENTS:
-------------
Compact Disc Master requires a Sound Blaster Pro, Creative Labs CDROM drive,
EGA/VGA graphics and a mouse is very desirable. The audio out of the CDROM
must be installed on the Sound Blaster Pro, although headphones may also be
used.
USE OF COMPACT DISC MASTER:
---------------------------
CDM is a copyrighted work. You are free to use and distribute CDM as is and
without modifications of any kind to the program or this documentation. CDM
IS NOT PUBLIC DOMAIN. It may only be distributed free of charge.
If you would like to see updates and enhancements, such as random play,
repeat, track order programming, CD title database and direct sampling, then
I would appreciate a donation of at least $10. If enough people donate to
pay for my time, then I will make updates. A donation is not required to use
CDM, but would probably be in everyones best interest.
In any case, thank you for using my software.
