- When you install WordPerfect 6.0 for Windows on a DEC Alpha or MIPS R4000
- computer the installation fails and the following error message appears:

- Application Error: INSTALL caused an Illegal Instruction in module
- INSTALL.EXE at 0001:03E6."

- CAUSE
- =====
-
- When Windows NT runs on a RISC processor such as the DEC Alpha or MIPS
- R4000, 16-bit Windows emulation only supports standard mode.

- The code for WordPerfect 6.0 for Windows INSTALL.EXE includes specific
- Intel 386 instructions, which will not run on the 286 emulator provided
- under Windows NT on the RISC-based platforms.
