  15. The Thomas Conrad TC5043 series of network adapters are not on the Windows
  16. NT Hardware Compatibility List, but they can be used as an NE2000 when they
  17. are in NE2000 mode. The NDIS driver provided with Windows NT does not
  18. function properly with revision A of this board when it is in NE2000-
  19. compatibility mode.

  21. Thomas Conrad has an upgraded ROM available for the TC5043 that allows the
  22. board to operate as NE2000-compatible. Please contact Thomas Conrad
  23. technical support to obtain this ROM upgrade.

  25. NOTE: There are two versions of the TC5043: one uses SMT (Surface Mount
  26. Technology) and one uses the standard DIP (Dual Inline Package) technology.
  27. The SMT boards CANNOT be upgraded because the ROM is not a removable chip.
  28. The cards that can be upgraded have the ROM chip in a socket on the left
  29. side of the card, just above center. The ROM has a white sticker on it with
  30. a number; have this number ready when you call Thomas Conrad to request
  31. your upgrade.
