- Windows NT sorts groups by group type (common groups or local groups), and
- then sorts again within these types. The first group type listed is Common
- groups. Common groups are sorted alphabetically. The second type of group
- listed is Personal Groups. These groups are sorted numerically by the group
- number.
-
- The group number information is stored in the registry at:
-
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current\Program
- Manager\Groups
-
- WARNING: Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious, system-
- wide problems that may require you to reinstall Windows NT to correct
- them. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the se
- of the Registry Editor can be solved. Use this tool at your own risk.
-
- You can change the order of the Personal groups by changing the string
- associated with the group number.
