  18. You may receive the following error message during Windows NT setup on an
  19. Intel 486 Express MX rev. B:
  20.  
  21.    An error occurred reading from or determining the configuration of a
  22.    hard disk drive attached to your computer. This may indicate a hardware
  23.    or configuration problem with a disk drive, disk controller, or SCSI
  24.    adapter.
  25.  
  26. CAUSE
  27. =====
  28.  
  29. This error message may be caused by one of the following:
  30.  
  31.  - Your SCSI cable may be too short (less than one inch between the drive
  32.    and the SCSI card).
  33.  
  34.    -or-
  35.  
  36.  - You have an incorrect jumper setting for video, such as Video Memory set
  37.    to 512K.
  38.  
  39. RESOLUTION
  40. ==========

  42. To work around this problem, do one of the following:
  43.  
  44.  - If your SCSI cable is too short, move it to another slot on the ribbon
  45.    (50-pin connector).
  46.  
  47.    -or-
  48.  
  49.  - If you have an incorrect jumper setting for video, change Video Memory
  50.    to 1 MB.
