  18. Some OS/2 applications may require that changes be made in the OS/2
  19. CONFIG.SYS file. However, the original OS/2 CONFIG.SYS file may not exist
  20. on the system. Information for a fake OS/2 CONFIG.SYS file is kept in the
  21. registry, and you can make needed changes by editing the fake CONFIG.SYS
  22. file. After you make these changes, the new values will be written back to
  23. the appropriate entries in the Windows NT Registry.

  28. WARNING: Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious, system-
  29.    wide problems that may require you to reinstall Windows NT to correct
  30.    them. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the
  31.    use of the Registry Editor can be solved. Use this tool at your own
  32.    risk.

  34. The Microsoft Windows NT "System Guide" states on page 322 that you must
  35. use an OS/2 text editor to change the OS/2 CONFIG.SYS file. An OS/2 editor
  36. can access a "dummy" copy of this file located at C:\CONFIG.SYS. However,
  37. if you access the OS/2 CONFIG.SYS entry in the Registry directly using the
  38. REGEDIT utility, then you will be able to invoke the online Multi-String
  39. editor to make needed changes. You can do this by selecting the value entry
  40. next to the entry for "CONFIG.SYS: REG_MULTI_SZ."

  42. The following subkey entry in the Registry identifies the location of the
  43. OS/2 CONFIG.SYS information:

  49. Microsoft recommends that you use a third-party text editor to edit the
  50. OS/2 CONFIG.SYS, but if you do not have such an editor availabe, you can
  51. use the online Multi-String editor in the Windows NT Registry.
