  18. Windows NT does not install properly on ICL ErgoPRO DXG/66 computers.
  19. Please note that this computer is not supported by Windows NT at this time.

  21. SYMPTOM
  22. =======
  23.  
  24. After the first reboot during Windows NT setup [after Disk 9], the
  25. following message is displayed:
  26.  
  27.    Non-accessible boot device.
  28.  
  29. The same problem exists with CD-ROM installs.
  30.  
  31. CAUSE
  32. =====
  33.  
  34. The ICL ErgoPRO DXG/66 computer is not supported by Windows NT at this
  35. time. In addition, problems have been encountered with its NCR53C94 SCSI
  36. controller.

  38. RESOLUTION
  39. ==========
  40.  
  41. The following procedure has been found to resolve this problem. However, it
  42. is not confirmed. Microsoft does not warranty this procedure and does not
  43. officially support the ICL ErgoPRO DXG/66 in any manner.
  44.  
  45. 1. Acquire ICL System BIOS version (1.13) or later from ICL (British
  46.    manufacturer).
  47.  
  48. 2. Disable the on-board SCSI controller.
  49.  
  50. 3. Replace the default NCR53C94 SCSI controller with one supported by
  51.    Windows NT such as an Adaptec 1540b.
