  18. There are certain firmware revisions required for Tandberg tape drives
  19. to run with the Tandberg tape driver supplied in Windows NT version
  20. 3.1. If the firmware revision is out of date, you may receive the
  21. following error message:
  22.  
  23.    Fatal translation error on tape in Drive 1.
  24.  
  25. CAUSE
  26. =====
  27.  
  28. Tandberg tape drives require a firmware revisions to be able to work
  29. correctly with the backup program that comes with Windows NT.
  30.  
  31. RESOLUTION
  32. ==========

  34. Tandberg tape drives require the following revisions:
  35.  
  36.    Tandberg 3660     08:15
  37.    Tandberg 3820     04:08
  38.    Tandberg 4120     04:08
  39.    Tandberg 4220     05:10
  40.  
  41. There are several ways to determine the firmware revision on a
  42. Tandberg tape drive. Some models have the revision printed on the back
  43. of the unit, others do not. If it is not printed on the outside of the
  44. tape unit, it can be found on an EPROM on the inside of the unit and
  45. may take the form

  49. where 4:12 is the firmware revision number. If you do not know the
  50. firmware revision and cannot find out what it is, please contact the
  51. manufacturer. If the firmware revision is out of date, please contact
  52. the manufacturer and update the firmware.
