choose the desired font and size. Now you may start typing!

not, press "S" to select.

gets to your printer;
3.Use "Alt-N" again, to choose 1 for the original printer that you
setup for your system, and start normal printing.
HOW TO USE NEWFASE FILL PATTERN.
To enhance your document with NewFase fill patterns, select a
relatively large point size of the font you use. (Ctrl-F8,4)
Enable outline feature provided by WordPerfect (Ctrl-F8,2,5)
(this is not required, but generally produces better effect).
1.Press "ALT-F10" to enable macro. Enter "SHADE" for the macro
name; you will see a list of available features numbered from
0 to letter M.
3.Select any number or letter, then the WordPerfect screen will
return. Now type in your text.
4.At the end of the text where you want to have the special effect,
invoke "SHADE" macro again (Shift-F10, Shade), and choose "0"
to disable the special fill pattern. What follows will be in normal
format with no fill pattern.
WHAT "ACTIVATING DEMO" CAN FOR YOU.
The working DEMO has one restriction: NewFase will print
"NewFase Sample" on your trial printout, with serial number of

This activation key will remove the shaded wording "NewFase
Sample" from your printout, so you may start using NewFase for
your daily work right away.

Just have the serial number, your VISA or MasterCard ready,
and call 1-800-935-5599.

user manual, a list of all fonts available, a registration card, and
your personalized demo diskette, will come to you via United
Parcel Service (UPS).

Saturday delivery, by Federal Express, or to an address outside
the U.S.A., a small shipping charge will be necessary.
QUICK TROUBLE SHOOTING
1. NewFase gives me "Can not run/find drivers" message when I try
to print from my printer, but I have no problem printing to the
monitor (that is, I can see the actual output on the monitor).
Solution:
Exit WordPerfect by Pressing "F7". When in DOS prompt,
change directory to "\NewFase" or the directory where NewFase
files reside in.
Type "install" to run NewFase install program. A pop-up menu
will come onto the screen.
Use the cursor key to highlight "Printer Drivers", the second item
on the menu.
Press "Enter" to edit, you will see a list containing the printers
that you installed, and the very first one is your default printer.
Press "Enter" to select that default printer to edit. Another pop-
up menu will list the printers and destination ports.
Move the highlight bar down to select the "Destination port",
then press "Enter" to edit. A sub-menus will come up with
entries like LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, FILE, NULL.
Highlight "file" and "Enter" to edit. The menu that comes up
will then ask you for the destination file name.
Literately Key in, "LPT1" then press "Enter" to finish this menu.
Use "Esc" to back out to the main menu.
Select the "Save Configuration" entry and save the changes that
you just made.
"Quit" the setup program and re-run NewFase and try print to
your printer again.
2. I use Panasonic 9-pin printer (KX-P1080, KX-P1090, KX-P1091,
or KX-P1180) and I chose the "Epson printer" as my printer
driver. NewFase won't print, or prints out garbage.
Solution:
Change the printer selection to "IBM Pro Printer" as your
default driver, because this is the default emulation mode on
these printers.
Alternatively, you can access the dip switch inside your printer
per your printer manual, to change to Epson Emulation, then
the NewFase Epson printer driver will work correctly.
3. My laser printer emulates Hewlett Packard LaserJet, but when
I use HP LaserJet III driver from NewFase, it will not print
correctly.
Solution:
First make sure that the default emulation mode for your printer
is HP LaserJet, and also select the HP LaserJet II printer driver
for NewFase to drive your printer. Sometimes, the HP LaserJet
Plus driver will have to be used for your printer.
4. I get the "Error reading disk" message when installing NewFase.
Solution:
Call MicroPress (1-800-935-5599) for replacement disk.
5. I am installing NewFase to XT, with 360KB driver(s).
Solution:
Call MicroPress for special edition for XT.
6. I get "Insufficient memory" message when running NewFase.
Solution:
Remove all or some memory-resident programs. This will
release additional memory.
7. When running NewFase, WordPerfect complaints about
"Insufficient handles".
Solution:
Increase the number of files in the CONFIG.SYS file. 30 files
should be sufficient for most operations.
8. I get "Insufficient RAM to view this page" message when running
Previewer.
Solution:
Remove all or some of memory-resident programs. This will
release additional memory. Alternatively, set smaller resolutions
for the Video driver using NewFase INSTALL.
9. I cannot run the SELECTNF macro -- WordPerfect cannot find
it.
Solution:
Verify that WordPerfect setup and NewFase setup list the same
directory for WordPerfect. If you are WordPerfect 5.0 user and
the MACROs directory is not set, you have to run SELECTNF
from the directory set in NewFase setup. Verify that
SELECTNF.WPM file is in that directory. When prompted by
WordPerfect for the macro name, enter complete path, i.e.
C:\WP50\SELECTNF
10.I cannot run the SHADE macro -- WordPerfect cannot find it.
Solution:
Follow the procedures for SELECTNF macro given above.
11.I cannot print or preview the document.
Solution:
Verify that the NEWFASE.PRS drivers has been selected by
WordPerfect. Verify that you entered WordPerfect by executing
the NF command.
12.When I print the document, I get "garbage". The Previewer does
not work either.
Solution:
Verify that you chose correct printer driver. Run the NewFase
INSTALL program. Verify that NEWFASE.PRS is selected by
WordPerfect.
13.When I print the document, I get "garbage". The Previewer
works fine.
Solution:
Run the NewFase INSTALL program. Verify that the
destination port is set correctly. Alternatively, you may try
change destination port from "LPT1" to "file", and enter "LPT1"
as the file name.
14.I changed the temporary files directory and NewFase ceased to
work.
Solution:
Run the SELECTNF macro. It will set the destination port
correctly.
15.EPSON LQ driver does not work right on my LQ 850 (or LQ
1050) printer at 360 by 360 dpi resolution. 180 by 180 works
fine.
Solution:
If your printer was purchased before September, 1989, you may
need a ROM upgrade. Call EPSON.
16.My HP LaserJet compatible printer does not print with the
LaserJet driver.
Solution:
See if the DeskJet driver works. Some HP compatible printers
are not 100% compatible.
