  8. Additional Information for Technical Bulletins #1-255 and #1-256
  9.  
  10. Technical Bulletins #1-255 and #1-256 outline a limitation that
  11. occurs when the BINDFIX utility and the NetWare 386 v3.0 shell are
  12. used together.  The information outlined in those two bulletins
  13. also applies to the MAKEUSER and PCONSOLE utilities.  (The issues
  14. described in Technical Bulletins #1-255 and #1-256 could also arise
  15. with independent software applications that manage user creation
  16. and deletion.)

  18. If you are using the NetWare 386 shell and you are using MAKEUSER
  19. to remove users, make sure that you are using the SHELL.CFG
  20. parameter SHOW DOTS=OFF.  (The USERDEF utility is potentially
  21. dangerous because  USERDEF.EXE calls the MAKEUSER.EXE utility.)

  23. If you use the PCONSOLE utility with the NetWare 386 v3.0 shell,
  24. PCONSOLE will not destroy data; however, PCONSOLE will hang the
  25. workstation under the conditions stated in Technical Bulletin #1-
  26. 255.

  28. If you are using any utility in a NetWare 286 environment that has
  29. the ability to remove users, we recommend that you use the NetWare
  30. 286 shell when performing those functions, or make sure that the
  31. SHOW DOTS=OFF statement is in your SHELL.CFG file.
