If you can't park your car all
winter, you're going to have to expect
to see rust one day. At that point,
my advice is to sell!
Another huge area with salt problems
is along the ocean and gulf shores. I
know it's nice to drive your vehicle
right up to the water so you have all
your things handy . . . but again, it
is that dirty word salt. These are
not as bad as the salt zone up north
'cause you are in warm weather. At
most exits from beaches, they have car
washes which have to be a must visit

before you head home. Really go over
it with gusto. If you have ever seen
floor boards rust completely out, you
know what I mean.
Use all the high pressure there is
available and make sure you hit every
nook and cranny under the car. It is
better to find out you have a leak
somewhere than to let one corner under
a door go unwashed. This kind of
effort will pay off in the long run
when your car still looks great.
Until science finds out what rust is,
we have no alternative.
