- This is a command line editor. It has far too much power for my taste,
- but you can leave the beels and whistles alone if you don't want them.
- The big feature to me is use of EMS to keep memory use down.
-
-
- Submitter src@cup.portal.com (Steve Calwas) says:
-
- Anarkey 4.0
- -----------
-
- Anarkey is an intelligent command-line editor for DOS. With Anarkey,
- complete lines can be entered with two or three keystrokes. Anarkey is
- *intelligent* because there is no need to tell it what you want to enter on
- the command line; simply press the <Tab> key and Anarkey figures out what
- you want and does it for you! No other command-line editor provides a
- comparable feature.
-
- Like previous versions, Anarkey 4.0 supports the following features.
-
- o The MegaKey which analyzes the input line, determines the type of
- Anarkey operation you want and does it for you automatically
- o Line-edit features comparable to those found in word processors
- o Save input lines for later retrieval
- o Many methods to retrieve saved lines:
- 1) Sequentially walk through the list of saved commands
- 2) Line completion where you enter a portion of the line and have
- Anarkey complete the remainder for you
- o Aliases
- o Multiple commands on a single line
- o 255-character input line
- o Filename completion
- o Environment variable retrieval and editing
- o Load into expanded memory
- o Configurable key assignments
- o Comprehensive Unix switchar support
-
- Anarkey 4.0 adds these major new capabilities:
-
- o Pop-up windows to retrieve past commands, complete filenames, edit
- environment variables or display program help. All windows support a
- mouse. Help text is configurable.
- o Display a non-blinking cursor at the command prompt
- o Full-support for enhanced keyboards (those with <F11> and <F12> keys)
- o Special support for Microsoft Windows 3.0 in 386-enhanced mode
-
- Anarkey 4.0 requires about 11K of memory in its default configuration. If
- expanded memory is used, Anarkey takes only 1K of conventional memory.
-
- Anarkey 4.0 is shareware.
