  13. This is a command line editor. It has far too much power for my taste,
  14. but you can leave the beels and whistles alone if you don't want them.
  15. The big feature to me is use of EMS to keep memory use down.

  23. Anarkey is an intelligent command-line editor for DOS.  With Anarkey,
  24. complete lines can be entered with two or three keystrokes.  Anarkey is
  25. *intelligent* because there is no need to tell it what you want to enter on
  26. the command line; simply press the <Tab> key and Anarkey figures out what
  27. you want and does it for you!  No other command-line editor provides a
  28. comparable feature.

  30. Like previous versions, Anarkey 4.0 supports the following features.

  32.   o  The MegaKey which analyzes the input line, determines the type of
  33.      Anarkey operation you want and does it for you automatically
  34.   o  Line-edit features comparable to those found in word processors
  35.   o  Save input lines for later retrieval
  36.   o  Many methods to retrieve saved lines:
  37.         1) Sequentially walk through the list of saved commands
  38.         2) Line completion where you enter a portion of the line and have
  39.         Anarkey complete the remainder for you
  40.   o  Aliases
  41.   o  Multiple commands on a single line
  42.   o  255-character input line
  43.   o  Filename completion
  44.   o  Environment variable retrieval and editing
  45.   o  Load into expanded memory
  46.   o  Configurable key assignments
  47.   o  Comprehensive Unix switchar support

  49. Anarkey 4.0 adds these major new capabilities:

  51.   o  Pop-up windows to retrieve past commands, complete filenames, edit
  52.      environment variables or display program help.  All windows support a
  53.      mouse.  Help text is configurable.
  54.   o  Display a non-blinking cursor at the command prompt
  55.   o  Full-support for enhanced keyboards (those with <F11> and <F12> keys)
  56.   o  Special support for Microsoft Windows 3.0 in 386-enhanced mode

  58. Anarkey 4.0 requires about 11K of memory in its default configuration.  If
  59. expanded memory is used, Anarkey takes only 1K of conventional memory.
