Setting up Inter-Planetary warfare in BRE involves a VERY, VERY simple process.
The first thing you must do is choose whether you wish to be a member of a
league or a Coordinator of a league.
If you are joining a league:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
run: BRE P_SETUP
Daily Maintainence: run BRE PLANETARY
Set up a PLANDATA.BBS file (See PLANDATA.SAM for format) and be sure to
get your league number from your league coordinator.
Give your BBS Information [BBS Name, Fido Address, City, State, Country]
to the League Coordinator.
Get a copy of the BRNODES.DAT [Nodelist] from the Coordinator.
- Theoretically, you should automatically recieve one, but you may want
to be safe and get it yourself. [Plus, it may be faster]
If you are becoming a Coordinator:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
run: BRE P_SETUP
Daily Maintainence: run BRE PLANETARY
Select a unique League number (1-999) and fill out your PLANDATA.BBS - See
PLANDATA.SAM for format.
Read NODEFORM.INF to see the format of the nodelist. BRNODES.DAT should
be maintained by you and you *MUST BE* BBS #1 in the League. When others
join the league, you should add them to the nodelist, and give the new BBS
a copy of it. BRE will automatically send updated nodelists to all other
nodes [and the new one, but it may take a while].
To insure fairness, Resets should always be set to Start Game 2-3 days in
the future. You should then run BRE CONFIG and it will send the new info
to other BBS's
WARNING: THEY MUST HAVE RESET ALSO BEFORE THEY RECIEVE THIS FILE
Overall, you just are in charge of maintaining the game - Cheating can be
taken care of by deleting nodes, etc.
Also: Coordinators, please notify the Solar Realm (1:106/900, 713-855-1665)
of the existance of your league so we can keep track of how many leagues
there are. Also, if you would like BBS's to join, we can advertise your
league.
Also #2: Coordinators, you may wish to consider getting BBS's from Long
Distance areas to join the league rather than a bunch of local systems.
Although this has the disadvantages of LD Costs (Small), it allows you
to play against a variety of players rather than having the same gamers
on the other BBS's!
