CISPCB Version 1.0 21 Nov. 1993
I. Product Description
CISPCB is a simple freeware utility which is designed to
convert the long and short file descriptions used by
Compuserve to a format similar to that used by the PCBoard
BBS system. PCBoard BBS styled listings can be used by
several disk catalog programs, including my own program
BBSee, as a simple means of providing descriptions to
catalog files, to eliminate the need to manually type
entries for files downloaded from CIS.
To run CISPCB you have to provide both the input file
specification and the output file name on the command line.
These names can include drive and/or sub-directory
information if required. In addition, the input file
specification can include DOS wildcard (* and ?) characters.
II. Syntax
The syntax for CISPCB is
CISPCB [d:][path]filespec [d:][path]filename
d: optional drive
path optional sub-directory.
filespec is the INPUT file specification, with or without
wildcards.
filename output filename.
eg.
CISPCB C:\OZCIS\IBMSYS.L* OUTPUT.TXT
This command will create an output file named OUTPUT.TXT in
the current sub-directory, with the PCBoard style conversion
of all the IBMSYS.L* files in the C:\OZCIS directory.
III. License. PLEASE read!
As the author, I Martin Vallevand am providing CISPCB as a
freeware utility for use by the Compuserve user community.
This product is not public domain and all rights to its
ownership and remain with me. Although not absolutely
required, if you do use CISPCB with any disk catalog program
other than BBSee, I would like it if you take an opportunity
to evaluate my program BBSee. I believe you will find BBSee
to be the most powerful catalog program available.
I am providing this utility on an as-is basis, and you as
the user must assume total responsibility for any and all
actions which results from its use. If you cannot accept
these terms DO NOT execute the program!
IV. Updates.
I have attempted to make CISPCB work with a variety of
description formats I've seen on Compuserve over the last
couple of years, but I'm sure things will change. If you
find that CISPCB doesn't work properly please contact me at:
