  7. This document contains information about CyberAge Raider Plug-in for 
  8. Netscape Navigator 2.0 and up.  Please read through this document carefully.
  9. We recommend also that you print a copy of this document and save it
  10. for future reference.

  12. NOTE: This is the first External Beta Release of CyberAge Raider.
  13. It allows you to use this product free of charge for 30 days after you
  14. first run it. Free of charge Software is provided on an "AS IS"
  15. basis, without warranty of any kind. By installing this package, you are
  16. consenting to be bound by CyberAge Raider end user license agreement. Under
  17. this agreement redistribution of this software is not permitted.

  35. *  Personal Computer running Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows NT 3.51
  36.    or later
  37. *  4 MB free disk space on the disk drive where Netscape Navigator
  38.    2.0 is installed.
  39. *  4 MB additional free disk space on the disk drive where Microsoft
  40.    Windows is installed, to be used temporarily by the Install
  41.    program.
  42. *  Netscape Navigator 2.0 or higher

  46. 2. Installation

  49. 1. Make sure that the Netscape Navigator 2.0 is NOT running.
  50.  
  51. 2. Find RAIDER.EXE in Windows Explorer or the File Manager, and
  52. double-click it to run it.  This unpacks the program files.  Now
  53. run the setup.exe program, which installs CyberAge Raider and then
  54. deletes the temporary files it created.

  56. NOTE: It is recommended you create a new folder and put raider.exe in
  57. it before starting the installation.

  59. 3. Follow the step-by-step prompts until the finish.

  61. Installation creates a shortcut on your desktop called CyberAge Raider

  66. 3. Starting CyberAge Raider

  69. After installation, double-click the desktop icon labeled CyberAge
  70. Raider, or choose CyberAge Raider from the Windows 95 Start 
  71. Menu | Programs | CyberAge. In Windows NT, find the
  72. CyberAge Raider icon in the CyberAge program group, and
  73. double-click it.

  75. If during installation, you had consented to CyberAge Raider as
  76. Netscape Navigator's default home page, then starting Netscape
  77. will automatically launch CyberAge Raider.

  79. We recommend running only one instance of CyberAge Raider at a
  80. time.

  82. There are two additional ways you can launch CyberAge Raider from Netscape
  83. Navigator 2.0:

  85. *  Choose File | Open File.  Open the file called raider.htm, which 
  86. is located in the root-directory where you installed CyberAge Raider.

  88. *  Go to Bookmarks, and choose CyberAge Raider Plug-in.

  99. 5.  Known Bugs and Troubleshooting

  102. 1. Initial CyberAge Hierarchy supplied with this Beta Release is hard-coded, so as such may contain some outdated links.  Watch out for our new release with on-line CyberAge Directory.
  103. 2.  If you design your own HTML document with CyberAge Raider embed tag, and are hosting it up on a WWW server - you will need to make some settings in the properties section of the server.  These parameters are - "virtual=magic/msmagic", and "mime=.anm". 
  104. 3.  The Program runs best under 256 color display.  Under 24 bit resolution, the application may slow down.
  105. 4.  It is recommended to keep CyberAge Raider open in only one instance,  and use it as launch pad to open multiple Netscape instances.

  119. In the Start Menu | Programs | CyberAge, click the Uninstall CyberAge
  120. Raider icon.

  125. In the CyberAge Program Group, double-click the icon labeled
  126. Uninstall CyberAge Raider.
