Readme file - CyberAge Raider plugin for Netscape Navigator 2.0 and above. Beta Release 1.0 This document contains information about CyberAge Raider Plug-in for Netscape Navigator 2.0 and up. Please read through this document carefully. We recommend also that you print a copy of this document and save it for future reference. NOTE: This is the first External Beta Release of CyberAge Raider. It allows you to use this product free of charge for 30 days after you first run it. System Requirements ====================== * Personal Computer running Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows NT 3.51 or later * 4 MB free disk space on the disk drive where Netscape Navigator 2.0 is installed. * 4 MB additional free disk space on the disk drive where Microsoft Windows is installed, to be used temporarily by the Install program. * Netscape Navigator 2.0 or higher =============== 2. Installation =============== 1. Make sure that the Netscape Navigator 2.0 is NOT running. 2. Find RAIDER.EXE in Windows Explorer or the File Manager, and double-click it to run it. This unpacks the program files. Now run the setup.exe program, which installs CyberAge Raider and then deletes the temporary files it created. NOTE: It is recommended you create a new folder and put raider.exe in it before starting the installation. 3. Follow the step-by-step prompts until the finish. Installation creates a shortcut on your desktop called CyberAge Raider ===================== 3. Starting CyberAge Raider ===================== After installation, double-click the desktop icon labeled CyberAge Raider, or choose CyberAge Raider from the Windows 95 Start Menu | Programs | CyberAge. In Windows NT, find the CyberAge Raider icon in the CyberAge program group, and double-click it. If during installation, you had consented to CyberAge Raider as Netscape Navigator's default home page, then starting Netscape will automatically launch CyberAge Raider. We recommend running only one instance of CyberAge Raider at a time. There are two additional ways you can launch CyberAge Raider from Netscape Navigator 2.0: * Choose File | Open File. Open the file called raider.htm, which is located in the root-directory where you installed CyberAge Raider. * Go to Bookmarks, and choose CyberAge Raider Plug-in. ====================== 4. Known Bugs and Troubleshooting ============================================================ 1. Initial CyberAge Hierarchy supplied with this Beta Release is hard-coded, so as such may contain some outdated links. Watch out for our new release with on-line CyberAge Directory. 2. If you design your own HTML document with CyberAge Raider embed tag, and are hosting it up on a WWW server - you will need to make some settings in the properties section of the server. These parameters are - "virtual=magic/msmagic", and "mime=.anm". 3. The Program runs best under 256 color display. Under 24 bit resolution, the application may slow down. 4. It is recommended to keep CyberAge Raider open in only one instance, and use it as launch pad to open multiple Netscape instances. Removing CyberAge Raider from Netscape Navigator 2.0 ========================================================= Here is how to remove CyberAge Raider for Netscape Navigator 2.0. In Windows 95: In the Start Menu | Programs | CyberAge, click the Uninstall CyberAge Raider icon.
