5. BATCH USE OF ALLWET
Mainframes and minicomputers require a machine specific set of control
cards required to run ALLWET as a batch program. The personnel installing
ALLWET on your machine will typically create the control card file. The
ALLWET user may then run the program by including a one-line command within
the batch job. The name of the system description file will generally be
required within this command.
On microcomputers, ALLWET, when accessed, will ask whether batch or
interactive use will be involved. If the user indicates batch, ALLWET, after
requesting and being told the name of the system description file, will read
the file, perform an analysis, prompt the user for the output file, and then
terminate execution. The interactive command language will not be invoked.
Most microcomputer use of ALLWET will be interactive, rather than batch.
Figure 6 displays output from a batch run containing a successful anal-
ysis of the sample problem shown in Figure l and Table 1. The input file for
this run is exactly that of Figure 4.
Chapter 6 describes the pressure-flow calculations and the interpretation
of output.
NOTE: Figure 6 is not included in the disk version of the manual, but is
not essential to using ALLWET.
