One 20-inch by 2 1/2-ft. piece of white gift wrap or shelf paper
STEP 1
To begin, fold the paper in half crosswise. Be sure to crease all the folds well. Place folded end at the top of your table.
STEP 2
Fold the upper corners to meet in the center. Then fold up the top piece to meet the two upper folds.
STEP 3
Fold up the top piece again to cover the bottom of upper folds.
STEP 4
Now turn the hat over, and fold the left side in to center.
STEP 5
Repeat with the right side. For a larger hat, don't fold the sides all the way in to the center.
STEP 6
Fold up the bottom edge twice to cover the upper folds, the way you did with the top piece.
STEP 7
Finally, tuck the flap into the "hat band." Then just fold down the point and tuck that into the hat band.
And that is the way to make a pointy paper hat! Use your imagination to create any kind of hat you like!
