- FLYING SAUCER

- YOU'LL NEED:
- 1 heavy paper plate
- White crafts glue
- 1 paper bowl
- Markers or crayons
- Buttons, beads, ribbon, glitter or stickers (optional)

- STEP 1
- Turn the paper plate upside down.

- Put glue around the top edge of the bowl. Turn the bowl upside down and press it onto the bottom of the paper plate. Let it dry completely.

- STEP 2
- To decorate the saucer, you can color it with markers. If you like, glue on buttons or other decorations. Let it dry completely.

- Take your flying saucer outside and practice flying it.

- FOR GROWN-UPS:
- As your children watch the stars go by, explain these words about space:
- -- Planet: A world that travels around the sun.
- -- Earth: The planet where we live.
- -- Solar system: The sun and the objects that move around it, such as planets and moons.
- -- Galaxy: A huge family of stars that includes our solar system. Earth is in a galaxy called the Milky Way.
- -- Orbit: The path objects follow in space.
- -- Gravity: The invisible pull or attraction that holds everything on the Earth's surface.
