1 square (1 ounce) unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled.
Assorted nuts and raisins
STEP 1
Beat the margarine with an electric mixer on low to medium speed about 30 seconds or until softened. Add about half of the flour, sugar, brown sugar, sour cream, egg, vanilla, baking soda and salt.
STEP 2
Beat on low to medium speed until thoroughly combined, scraping the sides of the bowl often. Then, beat or stir in the remaining flour.
Divide the dough in half. Stir cooled chocolate into one half. If dough is sticky, cover and chill about 2 hours.
STEP 3
Spoon dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Shape dough with fingers into different kinds of bugs.
Drop vanilla and chocolate dough by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheets so that mounds of dough barely touch. Keep bugs 3 inches apart.
STEP 4
Decorate with nuts, raisins, or little blobs of dough.
With adult help, bake the cookies in a 375 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until vanilla part of cookie is golden. Remove cookies from baking sheets and cool on wire rack. Makes about 20 cookies.
