Be sure to look for holes in the cones. Even small holes will allow the batter to leak during baking.
Try making these treats a day ahead of time. Just store the baked and cooled cones, uncovered, at room temperature. Do not put them in a tightly covered container or they will become soft and sticky. Frost and decorate the cones up to a few hours before serving.
