  10. The entire orchestra plays the second theme.  But, this time it plays only the first strain, without the questioning phrases that characterized the ends of each of the two strains.

  12. Instead of the usual modulation at the end of this passage, the entire orchestra remains on its climatic tones, gradually fading out (notice the "diminuendo" sign) and negating the feeling of triumph.  The latter shall have to wait until the last movement.
