WHATIS will determine which format a bank is in. The four types
of known formats are: MIDIex, ESQLib(tm), Ensoniq/Blank/RC:ESQ,
and Sequence formats. If the format of the file being looked at
is not one of these, then WHATIS will indicate that the particular
file you chose is in an unknown format.
To use WHATIS, simply type WHATIS followed by a filename.
A>WHATIS TRANSONQ.MDX
This command will look at file TRANSONQ.MDX and will
tell you that it is a file in MIDIex format.
WHATIS does not look at the file extension in order to determine
which format the bank is in. The bank itself is verified to
determine the format.
