<p><font size="5"><b><i>General Rule</i></b></font></p>
<p><font size="3">Rail movement is a special kind of
movement. Units may be moved from rail to rail during the
Rail Movement Phase. All rules governing Movement apply
during the Rail Movement Phase.</font></p>
<p><font size="5"><b><i>Rail Movement Capacity</i></b></font></p>
<ul>
<li><font size="3">The Japanese Player may move one unit
by rail.</font></li>
<li><font size="3">The Commonwealth Player may move one
unit by rail, or two if the CW Player played the
"Increased Rail Capacity" option.</font></li>
<li><font size="3">Rail movement may be 40 hexes long, no
matter what's the unit's Movement Allowance.</font></li>
</ul>
<p><font size="5"><b><i>Restrictions</i></b></font></p>
<ul>
<li><font size="3">Only supplied units may move by rail.</font></li>
<li><font size="3">Only units which did not moved during
the previous Naval or Movement Phases may move by
rail.</font></li>
<li><font size="3">Only units which do not begin the Rail
Movement Phase adjacent to Enemy units may move by
rail</font>.</li>
<li>Only Friendly controlled rail hexes may be part of
the rail path.</li>
<li><font size="3">There are no </font><a
href="rules_zoc.htm"><font size="3">Stacking</font></a><font
size="3"> restriction during rail movement, but
Stacking will be checked at the end of the Rail
Movement Phase. The Rail Movement Phase will not end
as long as overstacked hexes exist.</font></li>
</ul>
<p><font size="5"><b><i>Procedure</i></b></font></p>
<p><font size="3">The game mechanisms control every aspect of
units rail movement ; when a unit is about to move, all its
reachable paths are displayed on the map. This way, units
can't move beyond their capacity. The mechanisms take into
account rail movement costs, prohibited terrain, enemy
occupied hexes, and enemy ZOC.</font></p>
<ul>
<li><font color="#80FF80" size="3">At the start of the
Rail Phase, every Friendly unit that is allowed to
rail move is marked as Available</font></li>
<li><font color="#80FF80" size="3">If no unit is
selected, clicking on an Available unit will select
it and display its reachable paths</font></li>
<li><font color="#80FF80" size="3">If a unit is selected,
clicking on any hex of its reachable paths will rail
move the unit to that hex. That unit will then be
marked as Moved.</font></li>
<li><font color="#80FF80" size="3">If a unit is selected,
clicking on it again will cancel its selection. [Esc

<li><font color="#80FF80" size="3">If no unit is
selected, clicking on a unit that has previously rail
moved will abort its move</font></li>
