THEME PARK - By BULLfROG/EA - GAME-GUIDE!
=========================================
System Requirements
-------------------
You`ll need at least a 386 with 4mb RAM,VGA (SVGA if you want to play in
hi-res mode) and any of the major soundcards.Oh,and a mouse.
Installation
------------
Slap the Theme park disk 1 into your floopy drive and from the A:\> prompt
type INSTALL and hit return. Follow the on-screen instructions. Once the
games installed, run SETSOUND program to confiem that the game is configured
for the correct soundcard settings. Now simply type PARK to begin the game.
How To Play Theme Park
----------------------
Once you begin playing, the Theme park demo takes you through a quick little
tuturial of how to start building your park. Follow the instructions given
by the Theme Park master at the bottom of the screen to build a road - then
put down your first ride, shop and staff members. Once youve got the hang of
it press `O` to open the theme gates and let the punters in. The object of
the game is to build as large and as good Theme park as possible (one in
which most people are happy) in the time provided.
Control
-------
You control everything via icons, using the mouse. The tuturial should talk
you trhough the basic skills involved, but remember these handy hints all
the same:
1> Simply click on positioned objects (pathways, queues, ride exits or what
have you) with the right mouse button to remove them.Useful if you make
a mistake.
2> To scroll round the park, move the pointer to the edge of the screen and
click on the right mouse button. The screen then scrolls in that given
direction.
3> Listen to what the Theme Park master (the guy in the top hat at the
bottom left of the screen) has to say at all times- he offeres lots of
helpful advice about how to run your park.
The Icons
---------
NOTE: From LEFT to RIGHT.
1> PATHWAY. Click on this to lay down pieces of path (Your little people
use these to walk around the park). Hold down the button and drag the
mouse to draw more quickly. Try to make them as easy to follow as
possible,or your customers may get lost.
2> QUEUE. This works just like the pathway, but here youre putting down
queueing areas to lead the little people from the paths to the ride
themselves. The longer the queue the more people it can accommodate.
Very important for the popular rides, obviously.
3> RIDES. This icon enables you to plonk down rides. Simply select your
ride from here, then plonk it down wherever you like, remembering to add
a queue and join a pathway to the ride exit.
4> SHOPS.People always like to buy food and souvenirs,so plonk down shops
wherever you can.Theres a balloon shop,an ice cream parlour and a chip
shop to choose from.In each you can alter the price of items, as well
as certain variables like the amount of sugar in the ice cream (Lots
can get your punteres excited) or salt on the chips (which makes them
thisty!).
5> SCENERY. For a relatively cheap price, you can make your little people
much happier by brightening the place up with attractive trees and
ornamental ponds. You can also construct public toilets, which are er,
important!
6> STAFF.Three types are available - men in shark suits, who cheer up the
people, handymen, who run around picking up letter, cutting the grass &
so on,the mechanics you mend your rides when they break down (but not
without having a tea-break first). Employ all these guys to make sure
park runs smoootly.
7> MAP. Simply click on this to see an overhead view of your park.
8> QUESTION MARK. Vey useful. Select it, then click on any ride, shop or
person.Youll now see their name appear in the bottom-right corner of
the screen.By clicking on the smaller question mark, you can bring up
a screen data on the selcted item. If its a shop, for example,it will
tell you how well its doing; if its a person it will tell you what
they think of your park.
9> SMILEY FACE.Click on here to get an overall view of what people think
of your creation. The top line of people indicate exactly how many
people are happy, unhappy or undecided.the more happy people you have
the better your park. The lower line shows what theyre thinking in
little though bubbles. Use the on-screen translator below them to
decifer the icons.
10> MONEY. This enables you to see how your theme park is performing
financially. You can also alter your ticket prices here.
Well, thats it folks! Hope this helps you! -hOmer/M.A.D
