  9. This utility allows you to compile custom supplemental dictionaries for use 
  10. with the dbWRITER dictionary/thesaurus desk accessory.  
  11.  
  12. You will need a list of words, one word per line up to a maximum of 6000 
  13. lines. Words can't be longer than 19 characters and they cannot contain 
  14. control characters. 
  15.  
  16. When first run, this utility will ask you to choose your word list with the 
  17. fileselector. After loading you will have the option to sort the list 
  18. alphabetically (A-z) and also to convert the list to lower case.  
  19.  
  20. Next will be the compilation screen. Here you can see your progress, how many 
  21. lines have been skipped and how many lines have been created in the new 
  22. supplemental dictionary.

  24. When done you can save your new custom dictionary to disk. Please use the 
  25. extension .DAT

  27. The dbWRITER supplemental dictionary format is quite simple: 
  28.  
  29.                       ASCII text sorted alphabetically (A-z)
  30.                       12 words per line sorted left to right
  31.                        No words longer than 19 characters
  32.           1 space at the beginning of every line and between each word
  33.                               600 lines maximum
  34.  
  35. You can load supplemental dictionaries into your favorite word processor and 
  36. make changes after creation, just follow the basic format.
