Supplemental Dictionary Creation Utility for the dbWRITER Desk Accessory ---------------------------------------- Copyright 1992, David Becker Compuserve 73030,3562 GEnie D.Becker8 This utility allows you to compile custom supplemental dictionaries for use with the dbWRITER dictionary/thesaurus desk accessory. You will need a list of words, one word per line up to a maximum of 6000 lines. Words can't be longer than 19 characters and they cannot contain control characters. When first run, this utility will ask you to choose your word list with the fileselector. After loading you will have the option to sort the list alphabetically (A-z) and also to convert the list to lower case. Next will be the compilation screen. Here you can see your progress, how many lines have been skipped and how many lines have been created in the new supplemental dictionary. When done you can save your new custom dictionary to disk. Please use the extension .DAT The dbWRITER supplemental dictionary format is quite simple: ASCII text sorted alphabetically (A-z) 12 words per line sorted left to right No words longer than 19 characters 1 space at the beginning of every line and between each word 600 lines maximum You can load supplemental dictionaries into your favorite word processor and make changes after creation, just follow the basic format.
