- ============================================================
-
- This document applies to the EtherExpress(tm) 16, 16TP, 16C, FLASH,
- FLASH TP, FLASHC, MCA, and MCA/TP. It contains notes for installing
- the driver, but does not explain how to configure an EtherExpress board.
-
- Before you begin, you need the I/O address and IRQ of the
- EtherExpress adapter. You can get this information by running
- SOFTSET (for ISA cards) or the IBM System Configuration utility
- (for Microchannel cards).
-
- PROCEDURE:
- ----------
- 1. Install Netware 4.0 according to the NetWare 4.0 installation
- manual.
-
- NOTE: The NetWare 4.0 server driver for the EtherExpress card ships
- with NetWare 4.0. The driver is also included on later Intel
- disks or on Intel's BBS.
-
- 2. From the INSTALL.NLM main menu, select the option that is
- appropriate to your situation.
-
- 3. From the INSTALLATION OPTIONS menu, select "LAN Driver Options
- (Configure/Load/Unload LAN Drivers)". Follow the on-screen
- instructions if you need to load the driver from diskette.
-
- 4. Select the "Intel EtherExpress ISA Family" or "Intel EtherExpress
- MCA Family" from the list of adapters.
-
- 5. Configure the LAN driver by entering the Port Value (I/O Address)
- that you noted when you ran SOFTSET or the IBM SC utility. Also
- select the appropriate frame type(s). Press F10 to exit the form
- and load the driver.
-
- 6. Continue with your NetWare 4.0 installation as needed.
