  13.   <p class="calibre2">This feature of calibre is often overlooked, especially by users who own
  14.   an Amazon Kindle. Integrated into calibre is the ability to download news
  15.   from a variety of sources. As of this writing 337 different sources
  16.   ('recipes') from all over the world, including both free and paid content
  17.   are supported. The real advantage of having calibre manage your news
  18.   subscriptions is that once downloaded the content will be formatted for
  19.   reading on your e-book reader. However, you can still read the news right
  20.   on your computer. If you're going to be reading the downloaded news on an
  21.   e-book reader it's best to go into 'Preferences' and set the 'Preferred
  22.   output format' in General options to the preferred format for your e-book
  23.   reader. This would be MOBI for Kindle, and EPUB for the Sony Readers and
  24.   Nook.</p>

  26.   <p class="calibre2">Click the 'Fetch news' button (middle of the top tool bar) to open the
  27.   news download scheduler. With 337 sources the best thing to do is find the
  28.   ones you like and set them to automatically download at a time convenient
  29.   for you. If you don't want to schedule automatic downloads and would rather
  30.   handle it manually, you can. Just use the 'Download now' button that appears
  31.   when you have selected a news source.</p>

  33.   <p class="calibre2">In the news download scheduler you can expand the categories that are
  34.   relevant to you (the ones in languages you can read) by clicking the
  35.   disclosure triangles to the left of the language groupings. Look through the
  36.   recipes for something of interest. When you find one of interest, select it
  37.   and check the 'Schedule for download' check box on the right, or click
  38.   'Download now'. You can also set how often and when you want it to download.
  39.   Once downloaded the content will be converted to an e-book according to your
  40.   conversion preferences.</p>

  42.   <p class="calibre2">By default when you conntect your e-book reader calibre will
  43.   automatically transfer the downloaded news to the device. If you don't want
  44.   this to happen, and would rather transfer manually go into the
  45.   'Preferences', select the interface category, and uncheck 'Automatically
  46.   send downloaded news to ebook reader'. Also, if you do want it send to the
  47.   reader automatically it's usually a good idea to check the 'Delete news from
  48.   library when automatically sent to reader' option in ΓÇ£PreferencesΓÇ¥
