- DISCLAIMER: Please refer to the CLIMEX licence agreement for
- conditions of use applying to this Winter Diapause Template parameter
- file.
-
- This Winter Diapause Template was created as an example to illustrate
- the conditions that might initiate and terminate winter diapause in a
- temperate species.
-
- In this example, diapause is initiated when daylength decreases to a
- threshold of 14 hours of daylight (DPD0 = 14) AND the minimum
- temperature drops below 11C (DPT0 = 11). Diapause is terminated when
- daylength is increasing again (automatically calculated by CLIMEX), AND
- the minimum temperature reaches or exceeds 6C (DPT1 = 6), AND
- 90 days (DPD = 90) are spent with a minimum temperature less than or
- equal to 11C (DPT0). The DPSW value of 0 indicates winter diapause.
-
- Once daylength begins to increase again, diapause will be terminated if
- the minimum temperature reaches or exceeds DPT1. However, if this
- occurs before the necessary period of diapause development is
- complete - i.e., time spent in diapause is less than DPD - then diapause
- will NOT be successfully completed, and the species will be excluded
- from that location.
