- Request for Comments (RFCs) are now available via FTP from at least 20
- on-line repositories around the world, and at least 6 of these provide
- automated retrieval via email.

- Interest in RFCs and the number produced has varied over time. A
- recent look at the number of RFCs published per month since the RFC
- series was started in 1969 is shown in the graph below. The trend is
- up in the last few years, and the recent average is about 8 RFCs per
- month.
