  7. Request for Comments (RFCs) are now available via FTP from at least 20
  8. on-line repositories around the world, and at least 6 of these provide
  9. automated retrieval via email.

  12. accessing RFCs can be obtained via an email request to the RFC-INFO

  20. Interest in RFCs and the number produced has varied over time.  A
  21. recent look at the number of RFCs published per month since the RFC
  22. series was started in 1969 is shown in the graph below.  The trend is
  23. up in the last few years, and the recent average is about 8 RFCs per
  24. month.
