  1. We successfully compiled and linked lemacs 19.6 on hp-ux 9.0 using hp's
  2. ansii c compiler (with hp's patch phss_2222 applied). We then observed
  3. that the mode line shows 6 funny characters 5 hyphens after the percentage
  4. of the current file position.

  6. when extending the window horizontally the mode line only shows 100 
  7. characters and then terminates (showing the usual things, the 6 funny 
  8. chars and a bunch of hyphens) suddenly.

  10. this feature was also present in version 19.4. it does not occur in
  11. the sun version.

  13. did anyone out there experience similar problems and knows a fix ?
