  2. I think the subject is self-explanatory. My installation is Lucid 19.6.1
  3. (compiled with gcc 2.3.3), on X11R5 and twm (but this should be unrelevant).

  8. The same problem arise on another Sun, with the same executable :

  10.   SunOS sandra 4.1.1 1 sun4c

  12. Emacs starts, clears the screen and shows the status bar, and then stops
  13. on a bus error. 
  14. I also tried the binary in lemacs-19.6-sun4.tar, it doesn't work either.
  15. It works perfectly in X11 mode (thanks everybody !).

  17. emacs -nw is especially useful to those who are connected via telnet.
  18. It would be very nice to make it work, as we could then remove the old
  19. emacs installation and let everybody use the Lucid version.
