  1. Does this in any way imply that a merge of the two versions is getting any
  2. closer?

  4. I understand the difficulties there is between FSF and Lucid, but my interest,
  5. as an emacs 19 user, is clearly to minimize the number of versions of the
  6. product, so I do very much hope that the differences will eventually be sorted
  7. out.

  9. Even if a direct merge of the versions is not in sight, does the work done mean
  10. that the functional interface between the two is getting closer, so that at the
  11. elisp level, there will eventual be no difference?
