  1. I think someone already posted a request about the following bug
  2. but i can't find it in my archive of the bug-lucid-emacs or help-lucid-emacs
  3. mailing lists.

  5. The problem is that find-file (among others) replaces the leading "/" in a
  6. filename with a "~" for example when editing "/usr/local/lib/smail/aliases"
  7. i am prompted for "~usr/local/lib/smail/aliases" which results in a:
  8.  
  9. "usr" isn't a registered user
  10.  
  11. error message if i validate.
  12.  
  13. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  15. Anyway, i'd like to say that lucid is a truly wonderful product.
