  7. These archive files contain the StorageExpress Central Console and associated
  8.  
  9. software from version 1.53.B.E.

  35. These files are self-extracting archives.  The files SEDx.EXE will extract

  37. into subdirectories DISK1, DISK2, ...DISK6 on your hard disk.

  41. To download the files, you will need 14 Megabytes of hard disk space 
  42.  
  43. (6 MB to download and 8 MB to perform the extraction).

  45. You can delete the archive files (SED1.EXE, SED2.EXE, ...SED6.EXE) after
  46.  
  47. they have been expanded.

  51. After expanding the files, you can install Central Console from these 
  52.  
  53. subdirectories (DISK1, DISK2, ...DISK6), or you can choose to create
  54.  
  55. 6 diskettes and then install from those diskettes.

  59. NOTE:  You should install the 1.53.B.E. upgrade to a new directory, or
  60.  
  61. rename your existing C:\CENTRAL before running the installation.

  65. To install Central Console from your Hard Drive:
  66.  
  67. 1.  Run Microsoft Windows 3.1.  Choose Run from the File menu.
  68.  
  69. 2.  In the command box, type   DISK1\SETUP.EXE
  70.  
  71. 3.  Choose OK to begin.

  75. To create diskettes:
  76.  
  77. 1.  Insert a High Density 3.5 diskette into your drive 
  78.  
  79. 2.  Copy the contents of the DISK1 directory onto the diskette.  
  80.  
  81.     Do the same with the other diskettes for subdirectories DISK2,...DISK6.
  82.  
  83. 3.  Label these diskettes "Intel StorageExpress(TM) Central Console Ver 1.53.B.E".

  85.     Add the disk numbers to the labels (i.e., "Disk 1").

  89. You can now delete the archive files and the DISK subdirectories off of 
  90.  
  91. your hard drive.

  95. To install Central Console from the diskettes you created:

  99.   Insert disk 1 into your drive and run SETUP.EXE from it.

  103. When you run Central Console version 1.53.B.E and connect to a StorageExpress
  104.  
  105. system running an earlier software version, a "Version Difference Detected"
  106.  
  107. dialog will pop up.  You MUST update the StorageExpress in order to use it
  108.  
  109. with this version of Central Console.

  113. USING THE LATEST TARGET SERVICE AGENTS
  114.

  117. Make sure you are loading the updated version of the Novell SMS NLMs on 
  118.  
  119. your NetWare Server targets. The SMS NLMs are only required if you are
  120.  
  121. backing up a NetWare 4.x server or a NetWare 3.1x server with NFS or OS/2
  122.  
  123. name space support.

  127. You can copy them from your C:\CENTRAL directory after you have upgraded
  128.  
  129. your StorageExpress system to version 1.53.B.E.
