- We occupied a small island in the heart of enemy
- territory.
-
- Unfortunately, the enemy intercepted our call for
- reinforcements and sent eight Aircraft Carriers
- each with a long range Gotha Bomber.
-
- These eight scourges of the sky must be dispensed
- with. To solve the problem of the Aircraft Carriers
- we’ve equipped your plane with armour piercing
- shells. A bit of perseverance will be needed before
- you hit the fuel tanks or arms store though.

- Bad news all round. The enemy have launched an entire
- Squadron of their “Jet” fighters! As there are eight
- fighters in a squadron you can see we have got problems.
-
- Our top brass don’t seem to think we’ve got enough
- problems of our own because they’ve co-operated with the
- navy to organise a Gun Boat strike. This station has
- been detailed to destroy eight of them.
-
- I’d ask one of the other boys to take care of them but
- they all bought it when they tangled with those Jets.
-
- I know it’s a tall order but you must destroy these
- Gun Boats and Jets. We’re counting on you.

- Well old boy you’ve saved the day. You and the rest
- of the crew will soon be home sipping Earl Grey and
- tucking into Aunty’s home baked scones.
-
- While you were away I did some thinking. You haven’t
- been particularly well rewarded in this war. A few
- trinkets and a vague promise of political favour is not
- really adequate for one who has exhibited such courage
- and achieved so much. I can’t bear to see you
- languishing with a pittance of a pension.
-
- On a mission with an advanced party I discovered a
- Chateau hastily abandoned in the enemy retreat. Before
- letting our government get its greedy mits on the
- contents I salvaged a couple of valuable paintings.
- I want you to have them.
