- I solved the problem by
- DEFINE/SYSTEM/EXEC MAIL$SYSTEM_FLAGS 7
- and restarting MX. (see Chap. 9 of the "VMS Mail Utility Manual")

- This solution is thanks to Matt Madison (madison@TGV.COM).
- The same was true for DECnet mail, but we hadn't noticed that.
