  15. Actually, I think this is probably one of the best first places.  Go to
  16. seminars, talks, etc.  Often they are geared more towards a high-level
  17. description of a person's research, and you don't have to have been studying
  18. the topic for three years to get a feel for what is being talked about.
  19. You're likely to find something being discussed that sparks your interest.
