- Actually, democratic government in a modern sense is fairly young in
- Switzerland. Ownership and in particular carrying of handguns is regulated
- in all Kantons (~states), in general carrying of "concealable" weapons
- is not allowed without a license. It is however fairly easy to purchase
- rifles.
