- I have not done any serious calculation, nor any measurements but,
- I suspect from the published diameters of the Earth and Luna
- that you would need to be wearing a glove to cover the Earth
- with your thumb at arms length if you were standing on Luna.
- However, on Earth you can cover Luna with the fingernail of
- your littlefinger at arms length. It was nice to see from the
- posting above that some people besides me know this.

- This is independent of where the moon is
- in the sky (on the horizon or at culmination.) It is also
- indepndent of the phase of the moon but, is easier to see that
- you have really covered the whole moon when the moon is full.

- I have said this here before and every time I get into
- an argument (usually by email) with someone who is so sure
- that I am wrong that he can not be bothered to actually
- try it. Very frustrating.
