- The only model engine I've ever seen that has oil in the crankcase is
- the Kavan FK50 (or something close to that). This is a 50cc four-stroke
- engine modeled after the Continental 2 cylinder twin. It had some sort
- of oil reservoir in the crankcase. I haven't seen any ads for this
- engine for several years, and I heard something about Kavan's owner
- (his name was somepin Kavan) having passed away recently. I have no
- idea if the engine is produced or not.
-
- It was a gorgeous piece of machinery, tho...! Very scale appearance, with
- a stamped metal mount reminescent of the Continental, and even having
- "Continental" molded into the rocker covers. I recall the price being
- in the $2700 range.
-
- If you're at all interested, try to find a library with back issues of
- RCM or Model Airplane News, about 6-7 years back - they had ads for this
- engine then. Maybe some guys here have a good clue about it too... Or maybe
- one of us may have actually bought one of these jewels?????

- What about that O.S. wankel? Any experience with it? What about
- the O.S. supercharged four stroke engine? Is that still total-loss?
- Does it use regular tappet valves like an automotive four-stroke? How
- is it lubricated? Could it be modified?
-
- Thanks for any and all opinions.
- Good lift!
